Condtions Down Under -- ...the last 20 years has seen
a fall of 18 per cent in real wages for young males
and a fall of 12 per cent for young females.
"The wages of low wage workers are still more than 10 percent
below their level in 1979," said Sheketoff.
"The minimum wage, coupled with a tight labor market,
has helped reverse the trend, giving low wage workers
a long overdue, and big boost in wages," he added.
